Role Model Beyonce Joins Alicia Keys’ Gala

Beyonce To Perform again at Alicia Keys gala
Beyonce, Carole King, and Oprah Winfrey will all be in attendance for Alicia Keys’ annual fundraising gala this November.
Every year Alicia Keys hosts an extravagant Black Ball event dedicated to raising money for her Keep a Child Alive charity which assists people in Africa and India who have been affected HIV/AIDS.
The charity is just shy of its 10th anniversary, and performances by these iconic women are sure to be the perfect way to celebrate many years of the charity’s success.
Beyonce and King will both be performing during the gala, while Oprah Winfrey and Beninese crooner Angelique Kpasseloko will be honored for their many philanthropic efforts.
Michelle Obama Admits Beyonce Is Her Role Model Of course, Keys will also be performing at the event on November 1 at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom while Whoopi Goldberg takes on the job of MC for the night.
“Women will be rocking the house this year,” the “Girl on Fire” singer released in a statement.
Performing for the sake of helping HIV/AIDS affected people in other countries is just another philanthropic effort that makes Beyonce quite the role model, especially for the president’s daughters.
“Beyonce could not be a better role model for my girls,” President Barack Obama said.
As a matter of fact, it seems the 31-year old singer just might be the perfect role model for the first lady as well.
First Lady Michelle Obama has referred to Beyonce as her role model several times, while the singer has been busy gushing over the fact that Michelle Obama is actually her role model.
Bey’s adoration with Michelle Obama has been extremely apparent, especially after the R&B queen and her hip hop icon husband hosted a $40,000 a head campaign party for Obama weeks ago.
The “Dance for You” crooner has also become very involved in the first lady’s campaign to get children moving and in shape. She even surprised a group of kids at the Don Pedro Albizu campus in New York City last year by dancing along side them to the official “Lets Move! Flash Workout.”
The first family may consider the “Love on Top” singer a great role mode, but over seas in London children are less than impressed with the reigning Queen of R&B.
Beyonce Supports First Lady Michelle ObamaA recent survey revealed that 16.8 percent of British children between the ages of 8 and 15 aspire to follow in the footsteps of Steve Jobs rather than the footsteps of Beyonce, Simon Cowell, or even the president.
As for the adults, 23.7 percent were found to be more envious of Steve Jobs’ career than Beyonce’s.
As we officially enter the age of technology jobs title such as teacher, firefighter, police officer, and even pilot are quickly dropping off from every child’s list of favored careers and being replaced by “gadget inventor.”
IT has even become one of the top four most favored subjects in British schools, with over 30 percent of the children choosing to pursue a degree in the IT field in college.
