Tincan Island Apapa To Ojo local Government Iyanoba - Three Dead & Seven Rescued As Boat Capsizes Behind Navy Town

A local passenger boat with 10 persons on board, going from Tincan island Apapa to Ojo Local government iyanoba, capsized behind Navy Town, around 9:45PM on Thursday January 23th 2014. According to a statement from one of the victims, seven of the ten persons on the boat were rescued, while three were still missing as of yesterday, however the three missing persons were found today dead in Orile.

Victims from the scene said they were all wearing life jacket, But the life jackets were not in good condition. One of the victim said the Incident was caused by ferns holding the fans of the boat and they were on the water holding on the boat for 20 minutes.

One of the victim trying to reach for higher grounds stood on the capsized boat they were all holding on to, the boat sank and at that point three went missing and weren't seen since Thursday night till today Saturday morning in Orile. After another 20 minutes in water screaming for help a navy boat came and rescued the remaining seven while they were looking for the three missing till this morning.... May their souls rest well in the bosom of the Almighty!
