Madonna Dedicates Song to Elton John, Says She Forgives Him

Based on what she reportedly said on-stage at her concert in Nice, France on Tuesday night, it looks like Madonna doesn’t hold a grudge against Elton John for those critical things he said about her on Australian TV not long ago.
According to the Twitter feed of the local paper, Nice Matin, Madonna performed her song “Masterpiece” at the show and dedicated it to Elton, saying he’s a “big fan” of hers. Then she added, “I forgive him.”
The choice of “Masterpiece” as the dedication song, though, may have been a back handed tribute. You may recall that it’s the song that won her a Golden Globe earlier this year, beating out a song of Elton’s in the process. Prior to the show, Elton declared that she didn’t have a chance of winning; afterwards, his partner David Furnish publicly trashed Madonna and complained about the win.
At that same concert in Nice, Madonna seemed to bow to political pressure by changing one of the video clips that plays behind her on-stage. For most of the tour, she’d included an image of Marine Le Pen, leader of France’s far-right party, with a swastika on her forehead, leading Le Pen’s party to launch legal action against her. The party had threatened to do so again if she displayed the image at the Nice concert, but this time around, the swastika was replaced by a question mark, according to the news agency.
A local party supporter was quoted saying, “As far as I know, Madonna has never changed a video clip. This is proof that our arguments were valid.
